How Stanley Kubrick destroyed science fiction

Stanley Kubrick thought science fiction was a failure at myth making

It’s more than a little ironic that the motion picture widely called the greatest science fiction story ever told was made by an artist who hated science fiction.

Stanley Kubrick thought science fiction was a failure at myth making. Kubrick believed that the rocket ships and space stations of scifi were kid’s fantasies.

If humanity was going to get to the stars it wouldn’t be through the evolution of technology.

But through the

evolution of

consciousness
